    CABLE SERVICES BUREAU RESPONDS TO INQUIRY REGARDING THE
   CESSATION OF WWOR-TV DELIVERY AND THE SUBSTITUTION OF THE
                     ANIMAL PLANET CHANNEL 
                                
                                       
                                  
     In a letter released on January 10, 1997 (DA 97-0036), the Cable Services Bureau responded to an
inquiry concerning the cessation of WWOR-TV's delivery of its signal via satellite to cable operators, and
the substitute delivery of Discovery's Animal Planet channel by the satellite transponder.  In the letter, we
clarified that a cable operator using FCC Form 1240 annually need not file a FCC Form 1210 to reflect
this channel adjustment in the quarter following the quarter that WWOR-TV ceased being carried.  Such
an operator would instead include the channel adjustment in the true-up portion of its next annual FCC
Form 1240 filing.  In addition, we clarified that an operator may move the Animal Planet channel,
substituted for WWOR-TV, to a New Product Tier.
