NEWSReport No. CC 95-19 COMMON CARRIER ACTION March 16, 1995 COMMON CARRIER BUREAU HOSTS PUBLIC DIALOGUE Bureau Seeks Suggestions on Faster, Better, Easier Operations The Common Carrier Bureau will hold a series of open forums for all interested individuals and organizations to discuss and make suggestions that could improve all procedural aspects of the Bureau's operations. The first discussion will focus on general issues related to the Bureau, including issues and systems under the purview of the Industry Analysis, Domestic Facilities and Policy Divisions. Separate sessions will discuss issues pertaining to the Enforcement, Tariffs and Accounting and Audits Divisions. A schedule is below. "We want public suggestions about how to do our job better," said Bureau Chief Kathleen M.H. Wallman. "We don't pretend to have all the answers and if industry, the bar, state and local officials, community groups and others have ideas that will help us help them, we want to hear those ideas. The more specific the suggestions, the more helpful they will be. If someone can tell us why we should eliminate a certain form or how we can make a certain process faster, we want to hear that advice." Each forum will be held in the Commission meeting room, 856 at 1919 M Street, NW. The sessions are open to the public and seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Video tapes will be available after the meeting through the FCC's video tape contractor.
