NEWS February 25, 1998 JANE E. JACKSON NAMED CHIEF, COMPETITIVE PRICING DIVISION, COMMON CARRIER BUREAU Jane Jackson has been named Chief of the Common Carrier Bureau's Competitive Pricing Division. Jackson previously served as Deputy Chief of the Competitive Pricing Division. Jackson began working at the Federal Communications Commission in 1976 in the Cable Television Bureau. She was assistant general counsel at the Public Broadcasting Service, and later taught Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, and Federal Jurisdiction at Salmon P. Chase College of Law, Northern Kentucky University. She joined the Common Carrier Bureau of the FCC in 1984 and served as chief of the Legal Branch, Accounting and Audits Division, from 1991-1993. After a brief interlude in private practice at the Washington, DC, law firm of Dow, Lohnes & Albertson, she returned to the FCC in 1994 as a senior attorney in the Common Carrier Bureau's Policy Division. Jackson received her J.D. from Vanderbilt University College of Law in 1976 and her B.A. from Barnard College, Columbia University, in 1973. She resides in Silver Spring, Maryland with her husband, John Acton, and children, Susan and Timothy Acton. - FCC -
