   MARGARET EGLER NAMED ASSISTANT DIVISION CHIEF, POLICY AND
        PROGRAM PLANNING DIVISION, COMMON CARRIER BUREAU

     Margaret Egler, formerly Acting Chief of the Cable Services Bureau's Financial Analysis
and Compliance Division, has joined the Common Carrier Bureau's Policy and Program Planning
Division as Assistant Chief.  Egler was brought in from Post-Newsweek Cable, Inc. (now
CableOne, Inc.) to serve as Assistant Chief for the Financial Analysis Division in February 1997
and was subsequently promoted to Deputy Chief.  During her tenure with the Financial Analysis
Division, Egler oversaw the release of more than 1200 cable rate decisions which ordered more
than $39,000,000 in consumer refunds and resolved over 5000 complaints.  These orders also
resolved 79 appeals and 140 refund plans. 

     Egler received a B.A. from Duke University, a J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh, and
a LL.M. from the University of Pennsylvania.
