DA 95-667 Before the Federal Communications Commission Washington, D.C. 20554 In the Matter of the Applications of ) ) PACIFIC BELL ) ) For Authority pursuant to Section 214 of the ) File Nos. W-P-C-6913 Communications Act of 1934, as amended, ) W-P-C-6914 to construct, operate, own, and maintain ) W-P-C-6915 advanced fiber optic facilities and ) W-P-C-6916 equipment to provide video dialtone service ) to selected communities in Orange County, ) the southern San Francisco Bay area, ) the Los Angeles area, and the ) San Diego area in California. ) ORDER Adopted: March 30, 1995 Released: March 30, 1995 Comment Date: April 10, 1995 By the Chief, Policy and Program Planning Division: 1. On March 27, 1995, the California Cable Television Association (CCTA) filed a request for extension of time to file comments in response to a March 21, 1995 letter from Pacific Bell providing supplemental information in the above referenced proceedings. A Public Notice, released on March 24, 1995, had set April 4, 1995 as the date by which parties should submit comments on the supplemental filing. CCTA requests that the deadline for filing comments be extended until April 17, 1995. 2. CCTA states that additional time is necessary to allow them to fully address the issues raised in Pacific's supplemental filing. It argues that in view of the length of Pacific's supplemental filing, the amount of economic data which it contains, and the importance of developing a complete record, an extension will permit them to more fully address the issues. 3. We do not routinely grant extensions of time. In this case, however, we believe that CCTA's input in this proceeding is important. Therefore, in the interest of allowing all parties to more fully address the issues raised by Pacific's supplemental filing, we are willing to grant parties an extension of time in which to file comments. Given that the parties have already filed extensive comments in these proceedings and that the applications have been pending for some time, it is critical that we resolve the issues raised in these applications as expeditiously as possible. We consequently believe that an extension to April 17, 1995 would result in excessive delay. Thus, we grant all parties an extension of time for filing of comments until April 10, 1995. 4. Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED that the CCTA's Request for Extension of Time IS GRANTED to the extent provided herein, and otherwise IS DENIED. Federal Communications Commission James D.
