DA 95-1528 PLEADING CYCLE ESTABLISHED FOR COMMENTS ON NYNEX'S NOTIFICATION OF ENHANCED SERVICES MARKET TRIAL CC DOCKET NO. 88-616 Released: July 7, 1995 On June 30, 1995, the NYNEX Telephone Companies (NYNEX) filed a notification to conduct a market trial of a new enhanced service called PowerPass. NYNEX states that PowerPass is a point-of-sale information service that will be offered during an eight-month trial period in Maine. NYNEX states that PowerPass has two components -- a discount buying service for consumers and a sales tracking/stimulation program for merchants. NYNEX states that only the sales tracking/stimulation program involves the offering of an enhanced service. NYNEX states that merchants who subscribe to the service will use suitably equipped point-of-sale customer premises equipment (CPE) and the public switched network to remotely access a NYNEX database to track their retail sales and determine the appropriate customer discounts for participants in the program. Pursuant to the Interim Waiver Order, NYNEX describes its plans for complying with the conditions for conducting market trials of enhanced services without filing comparably efficient interconnection (CEI) plans.
