PUBLIC NOTICE Federal Communications Commission 1919 M St., N.W. Washington, D.C. 20554 DA 96-235 PLEADING CYCLE ESTABLISHED FOR COMMENTS ON SPRINT LOCAL TELEPHONE COMPANIES' PETITION FOR WAIVER OF PART 69 OF THE COMMISSION'S RULES TO PROVIDE UNBUNDLED COMMON LINES CCBPol 96-07 Released: February 23, 1996 On February 21, 1996, Sprint Local Telephone Companies (Sprint) filed a petition seeking a waiver of certain sections of Part 69 of the Commission's Rules governing the recovery of two types of access charges. Specifically, Sprint requests a waiver of the rules regarding End User Common Line (EUCL) charges to be billed to competing LECS (CLECs) that resell Sprint's unbundled local loops, and a waiver of the Commission's orders to permit the PIC Change Charge to be billed to CLECs that resell Sprint's unbundled local loops. Sprint states that this waiver is required because Sprint will no longer have a direct relationship with end user customers of resellers. Sprint states that the waiver will assure that EUCL charges will continue to be assessed upon Sprint's customer of record for the local exchange service (the reseller) in the same manner as they are today. Interested parties are asked to file comments on Sprint's petition for waiver by March 11, 1996, and reply comments by March 21, 1996, with the Secretary, FCC, 1919 M Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20554. A copy should also be sent to Janice Myles, Common Carrier Bureau, FCC, Room 544, 1919 M Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20554, and to the Commission's contractor for public service records duplication: ITS, Inc., 2100 M Street, N.W., Suite 140, Washington, D.C. 20037. Parties filing comments in this non-docketed proceeding should include the Policy Division internal reference number, CCBPol 96-07, on their pleadings. Sprint's petition is available for inspection and copying in the Common Carrier Bureau reference room, Room 509, 1919 M Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20554.
