Washington, D.C. 20554 DA 96-355 PLEADING CYCLE ESTABLISHED FOR COMMENTS ON BELL ATLANTIC'S COMPARABLY EFFICIENT INTERCONNECTION PLAN CCBPol 96-09 Released: March 13, 1996 On March 8, 1995, The Bell Atlantic telephone companies (Bell Atlantic) filed a Comparably Efficient Interconnection (CEI) Plan for their proposed Internet Access Service. Bell Atlantic states that the service will be made available in all in-region Bell Atlantic jurisdictions. Bell Atlantic states that Internet Access Service will provide residence and business users a convenient and user-friendly way to connect to the Internet. Bell Atlantic states that it will provide users with a full range of Internet and supporting services, including access to the World Wide Web, access to Usenet, electronic mail, and chat services. Bell Atlantic states that end user customers using switched access will be connected to a digital modem or ISDN access port at Bell Atlantic's premises; the modems and ports provide the customer with connection to a terminal router. Bell Atlantic further states that it will not transport in-region Internet traffic across LATA boundaries until it obtains in-region InterLATA relief; Internet traffic will be carried across LATA boundaries by interexchange service providers. Interested parties are asked to file comments on the CEI Plan by April 12, 1996, and reply comments by April 29, 1996, with the Secretary, FCC, 1919 M Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20554.
