Washington, D.C. 20554 "FOR RECORD ONLY" DA 96-653 PLEADING CYCLE ESTABLISHED FOR COMMENTS ON PACIFIC BELL'S PETITION FOR WAIVERS OF ONA SERVICES TARIFFING REQUIREMENTS CC Docket No. 90-623 Released: April 26, 1996 On April 19, 1996, Pacific Bell and Nevada Bell (Pacific Bell) filed a petition requesting a 30 day extension, to July 1, 1996, of its existing temporary waiver of the federal Open Network Architecture (ONA) tariffing requirement for Pacific Bell's individual-line Caller ID basic service element (BSE), Individual Calling Line Identification (ICLID). Pacific Bell states that although it has filed a tariff with the California Public Utility Commission to offer Caller ID on June 1, 1996, it needs a short extension to complete the cost work necessary to support a federal tariff for ICLID. Pacific Bell also requests several permanent waivers of the ONA tariffing requirements. Specifically, Pacific Bell requests a waiver of the federal and state tariffing requirement for the BSE Calling Number Delivery via Bulk Calling Line Identification (BCLID). Pacific Bell also requests permanent waivers of: (1) the state tariffing requirement for the CNS Deluxe Call Waiting (DCW); and (2) the federal tariffing requirement for the BSE Selective Call Acceptance (SCA). Pacific Bell and Nevada Bell currently have temporary waivers of the state tariffing requirement for DCW and of the federal tariffing requirement for SCA. Those waivers expire May 21, 1996. Interested parties should file comments on Pacific Bell's petition by May 6, 1996 and reply comments by May 14, 1996, with the Secretary, FCC, 1919 M Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20554.
