WASHINGTON, D.C. 20554 DA 96-1524 News media information 202/418-0500 Fax-On-Demand 202/418-2830 Internet: http://www.fcc.gov ftp.fcc.gov CABLE SERVICES ACTION September 11, 1996 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC INSPECTION ON CENTURY COMMUNICATIONS CORPORATION CABLE SERVICE TIER RATES Century Communications Corporation ("Century") has forwarded to the Federal Communications Commission ("Commission") a Proposed Resolution to resolve complaints filed against Century regarding the rates charged for cable programming service offered on its cable systems in the Los Angeles, California area. At issue are 242 complaints covering the period September 1, 1993 to May 15, 1994 and 32 complaints for the period May 15, 1994 to date. The Commission has approved sending this proposal to the complaining parties for comment. The Commission will consider the proposal for approval after evaluating public comment. In the context of discussions with the Commission regarding the resolution of issues raised by the complaints, Century provided the Commission with new written information. Pursuant to 47 C.F.R.  1.1204(b)(7) Note, the Commission has determined that service of this material on all parties to the proceeding would be unduly burdensome because of the number of parties involved. Thus, this notice is being issued in lieu of service for the purpose of notifying the public that copies of the new materials submitted by Century are included in the record of the proceedings and are available for public inspection in the Cable Services Bureau's public reference room, Room 333 at 2033 M Street, N.W.
