COMMON CARRIER BUREAU TO HOLD PUBLIC FOR   UM 
ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 23RD TO DISCUSS 
IMPLEMENTATION OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS LEGISLATION


     The Common Carrier Bureau will hold a public forum for representatives from all
segments of the telecommunications industry, including carriers, customers, consumer
organizations, governmental authorities, and other interested parties, to discuss implementation
of the Telecommunications Act of 1996.  The Bureau will present its plans for handling the
responsibilities assigned to it.  

     Due to space constraints, the Bureau requests that no more than two representatives
from each organization attend the forum.  

     The forum will be held on Friday, February 23, 1996 from 10:00am to 11:00am in the
Commission Meeting Room (Room 856), 1919 M Street, N.W.
