Washington, D.C. 20554 DA 97-31 PLEADING CYCLE ESTABLISHED FOR COMMENTS ON COMPARABLY EFFICIENT INTERCONNECTION PLANS FOR PAYPHONE SERVICE CC Docket No. 96-128 Released: January 8, 1997 The four Bell Operating Companies (BOCs) listed in this Public Notice recently filed Comparably Efficient Interconnection (CEI) plans for payphone services in accordance with Commission requirements imposed in Implementation of the Pay Telephone Reclassification and Compensation Provisions of the Telecommunications Act of 1996, CC Docket No. 96- 128 and 91-35, Report and Order, FCC 96-388, released Sept. 20, 1996, and Order on Reconsideration, FCC 96-439 released Nov. 8, 1996. These BOCs include: Southwestern Bell Telephone Company (Dec. 30, 1996); NYNEX (Jan. 3, 1997); Bell Atlantic (Jan. 6, 1997); and US West (Jan. 6, 1997). Interested parties must file a separate pleading for each of the proposed CEI plans on which they comment. Comments on these proposed CEI plans must be filed by February 7, 1997, and reply comments by February 24, 1997, with the Secretary, FCC, 1919 M Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20554. In addition, parties should send one copy to Janice Myles, Common Carrier Bureau, FCC, Room 544, 1919 M Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20554, and to one copy to International Transcription Service, Inc, (ITS), the Commission's contractor for public service records duplication. The proposed CEI plans are available for inspection and copying during normal business hours in the FCC's Reference Center, Room 239, 1919 M Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20554.
