On January 17, 1997, Ameritech amended its application. On the same day, the Common Carrier Bureau released a public notice that revised the procedural schedule adopted in the January 2nd Public Notice, effectively treating the January 17th amendment as a new application. On February 3, 1997, the Association for Local Telecommunications Services (ALTS) filed a motion requesting the Commission to enter an order striking all reliance upon "an asserted '[state] approved AT&T agreement'" from Ameritech's pending section 271 application. On the same day, the Common Carrier Bureau released a public notice that: (1) allowed Ameritech and other interested parties to comment on ALTS's motion by February 5, 1997, and (2) revised the procedural schedule adopted in the January 17th Public Notice to extend to February 10, 1997 the date by which interested third parties must file comments in support of or in opposition to the Ameritech application. In light of the pendency of the Commission's consideration of ALTS's motion, the procedural schedule adopted in the January 17th Public Notice and modified by the February 3rd Public Notice is hereby revised. Comments in support of or opposition to the Ameritech application by interested third parties must be filed on or before February 13, 1997. Any written consultation by the Department of Justice must be filed on or before February 24, 1997. By the Chief, Common Carrier Bureau News Media contact: Rochelle Cohen (202) 418-1500.
