("MAI") filed a petition seeking an "interim order by authority of 47 U.S.C.  203(b)(2) to the effect that: No tariff or customer subscription agreement of a telecommunications carrier may prohibit redistribution or resale of Internet service." This petition will be treated as a petition for rulemaking pursuant to Section 1.401 of the Commission's Rules, 47 C.F.R. 1.401. Pursuant to Section 1.405 of the Commission's Rules, 47 C.F.R.  1.405, interested parties may file a statement in support of, or in opposition to, this petition not later than October 20, 1997.
