REQUEST BY BELL ATLANTIC-VIRGINIA FOR LIMITED MODIFICATION OF LATA
BOUND        ARIES TO PROVIDE EXPANDED LOCAL CALLING SERVICE 

                                   On January 7, 1997, Bell Atlantic-Virginia (Bell Atlantic) filed a petition requesting modification of
local access transport area (LATA) boundaries to provide expanded local calling service (ELCS)
between two exchanges in Virginia.  The petition applies to the Honaker and South Oakwood
exchanges.  

Interested parties may file comments concerning this matter on or before February 6, 1998 and reply
comments on or before February 13, 1998.  All filings must reference File No. NSD-L-98-02 and
should be sent to Magalie Roman Salas, Secretary, Federal Communications Commission, 1919 M
Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20554.  Copies of documents filed with the Commission may be
