WASHINGTON, D.C. 20554 DA 99-447 News media information 202/418-0500 Fax-On-Demand 202/418-2830 Internet: http://www.fcc.gov ftp.fcc.gov Released: March 3, 1999 Competitive Pricing Division Grants Motion for Extension of Time for Comments and Reply Comments in Response to Bell Atlantic Telephone Companies' Petition for Forbearance CC Docket No. 99-24 Pleading Cycle Revised COMMENTS: March 18, 1999 REPLY COMMENTS: April 8, 1999 On January 20, 1998, the Bell Atlantic Telephone Companies (Bell Atlantic) filed a petition requesting that the Commission exercise its authority to forbear from applying Part 69 rate structure rules and Part 61 rate level rules to its special access services in 12 of the jurisdictions in which it provides special access services, pursuant to Section 10 of the Communications Act of 1934 (the Act), as amended by the Telecommunications Act of 1996, 47 U.S.C.  160. The Common Carrier Bureau (Bureau) established a filing date of March 8, 1999, for comments, and March 30, 1999, for reply comments. On March 1, 1999, KMC Telecom, Inc. (KMC), a competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC), filed a motion for extension of time in this proceeding. On March 3, 1999, the Competitive Pricing Division granted KMC's motion. Interested parties may now file comments on Bell Atlantic's petition for forbearance on or before March 18, 1999, and reply comments on or before April 8, 1999. This matter shall continue to be treated as a "permit-but-disclose" proceeding in accordance with the Commission's ex parte rules. See 47 C.F.R.  1.1200, 1.1206. All other requirements discussed in the January 21, 1999, Public Notice in this proceeding remain in effect.
