      COMMON CARRIER BUREAU EXTENDS PERIOD FOR COMMENTS    
            AND REPLY COMMENTS ON COMPLIANCE DEADLINE FOR         
                      HARMONIZATION ORDER REGULATIONS

          On February 17, 1999, the Commission issued a Public Notice that solicited
     comments and reply comments on 47 C.F.R.  68.2(j)(3) of the Commission's rules. 
     Comments were due on March 5, 1999, and reply comments are due on March 12,
     1999.  Several parties, however, have experienced problems with filing.  Accordingly,
     the deadline for comments is hereby extended until March 19, 1999, and for reply
     comments, until March 26, 1999.
     
          Parties must file by paper, by filing an original and four copies of all comments
     and reply comments. All filings must be sent to the Commission's Secretary, Magalie
     Roman Salas, Office of the Secretary, Federal Communications Commission, 445
     12th Street, S.W., TW-A325, Washington, D.C. 20554.  In addition, one copy of
     each pleading must be filed with the Commission's duplicating contractor,
     International Transcription Services (ITS), 1231 20th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C.
     20036, and one copy with Al McCloud, Network Services Division, Suite 235, 2000
     M Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20554.
