On July 17, 1998, the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) submitted a motion to the Commission for a sixty-day extension of the comment and reply comment period in the above-captioned proceeding. NAB states that it is contracting with an engineering firm to perform tests on various broadcast receivers to ascertain their susceptibility to interference caused by RF energy on AC power lines and that it is estimated that these tests will take four to six weeks to complete. Therefore, NAB requests the extension to conduct these tests and submit its comments to the Commission. 2. The Commission does not routinely grant extensions of time in rulemaking proceedings. However, we believe that providing more time will enable NAB to submit additional information that will be beneficial to the record in this proceeding. Accordingly, we agree to delay the comment and reply periods for six weeks. IT IS ORDERED that the time for filing comments in the above captioned proceeding IS EXTENDED to September 8, 1998, and the time for filing reply comments IS EXTENDED to September 23, 1998. 3. This action is taken pursuant to authority found in Section 4(i) and 303 of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U.S.C. 154(i) and 303; and pursuant to Sections 0.31, 0.241, and 1.46 of the Commission's Rules, 47 CFR 0.31, 0.241, and 1.46.
