On August 19, 1999, the International Microwave Power Institute ("IMPI") requested a two-week extension of time to file comments and reply comments in the above captioned proceeding. In its motion, IMPI states that the additional time is needed in order to complete discussions with the Millimeter Wave Communications Working Group ("MWCWG") on issues that are relevant to this proceeding. IMPI also states that, due to the Labor Day holiday schedules involving key individuals of both groups, it will not be possible for IMPI and the MWCWG to fully explore a possible resolution of their respective positions without the requested extension. 2. Although the Commission does not routinely grant extensions of time, we agree with IMPI that in this instance an extension of time may allow resolution of issues in this proceeding, thus serving the public interest. Accordingly, for good cause shown, IT IS ORDERED that the date for filing comments and reply comments is extended to September 21, 1999 and October 6, 1999, respectively. 3. This action is taken pursuant to authority found in Sections 4 (i) and 303 of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U.S.C. 154 (i) and 303; and pursuant to Sections 0.31, 0.241, and 1.46 of the Commission's Rules, 47 C.F.R. 0.31, 0.241 and 1.46.
