The forum will be in the Commission Meeting Room at the Portals, 445 12th Street, SW, Washington DC from 9 AM until 12:30 PM. Those presenting new technologies will be available after the forum for demonstrations and questions until 2 PM. Speakers will include FCC personnel, representatives from companies whose products showcase particular new technologies, and representatives of industry and trade groups associated with these technologies. The focus will be on unlicensed spectrum use, including wireless Internet access, wireless LANs, and ultrawideband, as well as the business opportunities involved with these technologies. Time will necessarily be limited. Companies and organizations participating in the forum will be invited solely at the discretion of OCBO and OET. Any company interested in participating should therefore send a copy of its company profile and a description of its technology to the representatives of OCBO and OET listed below. Preference will be given to small companies which have not taken part in an FCC forum, tutorial, or similar demonstration in the past. Participants must either be marketing equipment which is already authorized by the Commission (or is in the process of being authorized), or be a trade group of companies involved with the new wireless technologies. Selections of participants will be made by December 31, 1999 and will be announced in a Public Notice to be issued in January 2000.
