NEWS NEWS February 25, 1998 FCC NAMES CHERYL A. TRITT ADVISORY COMMITTEE VICE CHAIR AND ANNOUNCES ADVISORY COMMITTEE STRUCTURE FOR WRC 1999/2000. FCC Chairman William E. Kennard has appointed Cheryl A. Tritt as Vice Chair of the FCC's Advisory Committee for the 1999/2000 World Radiocommunication Conference. Tritt will serve under Advisory Committee Chair Antoinette Cook Bush. Tritt is a partner in the Washington, DC office of the law firm of Morrison & Foerster where she specializes in communications law. She joined the firm in June 1993, after serving as Chief of the Common Carrier Bureau of the FCC. As head of the Common Carrier Bureau, Tritt directed all FCC matters involving the interstate and the international regulatory activities of telecommunications carriers, including cellular, satellite, long distance and local telephone companies. Prior to her appointment as Chief of the Common Carrier Bureau, Tritt served as Telecommunications Advisor to FCC Chairman Alfred C. Sikes, where she was substantially involved in radio spectrum allocation and licensing assignments for new wireless services. The FCC has also finalized the structure for the FCC's WRC-99 Advisory Committee, and established Informal Working Groups to address the substantive issues being considered at the conference.
