                              ORDER

     Adopted:  January 13, 1999              Released:  January 13, 1999

By the Chief, Satellite and Radiocommunication Division:  

     1.   On December 22, 1998, Hughes Communications Galaxy, Inc. filed a Request for
Extension of Time to file reply comments in the referenced proceeding.  No party has opposed the Request. 
Hughes's Request is granted.  

     2.   Currently, reply comments in this proceeding are to be filed on or before January 7, 1999. 
Hughes has requested that this date be extended to January 14, 1999.   In support of its request, Hughes
states that due to holiday closures, appropriate technical personnel would not be available until January 4,
1999 to address comments filed on December 23, 1998.  In addition, Hughes states that this extension
would not prejudice any other party.  No opposition to Hughes's request has been filed. Given these
circumstances, we find the requested extensions are warranted.

     3.   Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED that, pursuant to Section 0.261 of the Commission's Rules
on delegations of authority, 47 C.F.R. Section 0.261, Hughes Communication Galaxy, Inc.'s Request for
Extension of Time to file reply comments in the referenced proceeding IS GRANTED.  Reply comments
may be filed on or before January 14, 1999.

     4.   IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that this Order is effective upon release.
