On May 6, 1999, The Satellite Broadcasting and Communications Association (SBCA) filed a Request for Extension of Time in which to respond to the petitions for reconsideration and/or clarification filed in the referenced proceeding. No party has opposed the Request. SBCA's Request is granted. 2. The Report and Order in this proceeding was published in the Federal Register at 64 FR 5951 (February 8, 1999). Petitions for Reconsideration and/or Clarification were filed on March 10 and 11, 1999 and were placed on Public Notice (see Report No. 2326 (released April 15, 1999)). The Public Notice was published at 61 FR 19540 (April 21, 1999). Therefore, oppositions to the Petitions were due on May 6, 1999, fifteen days later. 3. SBCA states that, while diligently attempting to obtain copies of the numerous petitions, they were unable to obtain a complete set before May 4, 1999. As responses were due two days after the petitions were available, SBCA is seeking an extension, until May 20, 1999, in which to evaluate the petitions and prepare a response. Given these circumstances, we find the requested extension is warranted. While SBCA does not request an extension of the reply date, we find it in the public interest to grant a corresponding extension of the date for replies to oppositions, including the oppositions filed on May 6, 1999. Therefore, oppositions will be due on or before May 20, 1999 and replies to opposition will be due on or before June 1, 1999. 4. Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED that, pursuant to Section 0.261 of the Commission's Rules on delegations of authority, 47 C.F.R. 0.261, Satellite Broadcasting and Communications Association's Request for Extension of Time to file oppositions to Petitions for Reconsideration and/or Clarification in the referenced proceeding IS GRANTED. Oppositions may be filed on or before May 20, 1999 and replies to oppositions may be filed on or before June 1, 1999. 5. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that this Order is effective upon release.
