File No. SES-MOD-19990318-00438 ORDER Adopted: May 28, 1999 Released: May 28, 1999 By the Chief, Satellite and Radiocommunication Division: 1. Loral Space & Communications Ltd. (Loral) requests an extension of time from May 28, 1999, until June 14, 1999, to file comments on the above captioned application by GlobeCast North America Incorporated (GlobeCast). 2. Loral states that the extension of time is necessary in order to fully evaluate the effects on Loral's operations of the requested modification to connect to EUTELSAT I-F5 at 12.5 degrees W.L, a foreign licensed satellite, that has not yet been coordinated with the United States. Loral represents that its personnel with the expertise needed to evaluate this application are currently unavailable because they have been working full time to restore service to customers due to the Orion 3 launch failure on May 6, 1999. Loral's further represents that GlobeCast does not object to the request. 3. We find it is in the public interest to grant Loral an extension of time in which to file comments on the above captioned application. Therefore, we extend the date to file comments on GlobeCast's application until June 14, 1999. 4. This action is taken pursuant to Sections 0.51, 0.261, 1.46 of the Commission's rules, 47 C.F.R. 0.51, 0.261, 1.46. 5. Accordingly, Loral's Request for Extension of Time is GRANTED and the deadline for filing comments on the above captioned application is EXTENDED from May 28, 1999, to June 14, 1999.
