                              MEETING SCHEDULE 
                                     FOR 
           1997 WORLD RADIOCOMMUNICATION CONFERENCE WORKING GROUPS 

In order to begin preparations  for the 1997 World Radiocommunication Conference 
(WRC-97), the FCC has scheduled the first round of WRC-97 Advisory Committee Informal Working
Group (IWG) meetings.  As International Bureau Chief Scott Blake Harris stated at the WRC-97 kick-off
session last week, the purpose of Committee meetings including both industry members and government
officials "is to simplify and accelerate the development of U.S. proposals that we could then negotiate with
other administrations at an early stage." 

The meetings are open to the public and all interested persons are encouraged to attend.     

All meetings will be held at the FCC's International Bureau, 2000 M St., N.W. Washington, D.C.
