August 28, 1998 ROBERT H. RATCLIFFE NAMED DEPUTY CHIEF, MASS MEDIA BUREAU Robert H. Ratcliffe, Acting Deputy Chief (Operations) of the Commission's Mass Media Bureau, has been named Deputy Chief (Operations) of the Bureau on a permanent basis. He has held the position of Acting Deputy Chief since November of 1997. His permanent appointment was effective July 5, 1998. Ratcliffe has worked at the FCC since 1975, holding various positions in the former Cable Television Bureau and the Mass Media Bureau, as well as serving as a Mass Media legal advisor to former Chairman Sikes in 1989. Ratcliffe received his J.D. degree from the Boston University School of Law, and holds an A.M. degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and a B.A. degree from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. - F C C -
