                    NEW FCC FORM 317 AVAILABLE FOR USE

The new annual digital television (DTV) ancillary or supplemental services reporting form (FCC
Form 317) has been approved by the Office of Management Budget and is available for use.  

FCC Form 317 is effective immediately and is to be filed on or before December 1, 1999, by each
commercial DTV licensee.  A separate "Remittance Advice" form (FCC Form 159, dated July
1997) must also be submitted concurrently with FCC Form 317 by each commercial DTV licensee
required to pay a fee based on the gross revenues derived from the provision of certain types of
ancillary or supplementary services on its station's digital spectrum capacity or bitstream.

FCC Forms 317 and 159 have been sent by the Mass Media Bureau to each commercial DTV
licensee subject to the new annual reporting and fee payment requirements.  A copy of the new
FCC Form 317 is available via the Internet by accessing the FCC Web Site at http://www.fcc.gov
and clicking on the Forms link.
