March 4, 1994 DAVID A. NALL NAMED DEPUTY CHIEF, TARIFF DIVISION David Alan Nall has been named Deputy Chief of the Tariff Division, Common Carrier Bureau, effective February 20, 1994. In addition to his supervisory responsibilities as Deputy Division Chief, Mr. Nall will oversee several significant Division projects and coordinate these projects with other organizations within the Commission. Before joining the Commission's staff, Mr. Nall was an attorney in private practice at the law firm of Squire, Sanders & Dempsey. His practice there was in the areas of telecommunications regulation and transactions, radio licensing, cable television, and postal rate regulation. His clients included communications users and licensees, equipment manufacturers, enhanced service providers, municipal governments, and small newspapers. Previously, Mr. Nall was a staff attorney at the Institute for Public Representation, where he worked in the Citizens Communications Center project. Mr. Nall's clients at that time included the Consumer Federation of America, which he represented before the Commission and in the post-divestiture proceedings in the United States District Court. Mr. Nall graduated from the University of Virginia in 1973. He was a Foreign Service Officer from 1974 until 1982, serving in several assignments overseas and in the U.S. Department of State. He received a J.D. from the Catholic University of America in 1985, and an LL.M. from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1987. He is a member of the District of Columbia and Maryland Bars, and is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Mr. Nall is a member of the Federal Communications Bar Association. Mr. Nall resides in Takoma Park, Maryland, and is married to Laura E. Lester.
