April 4, 1994 FCC TO HOST PANEL DISCUSSIONS ON PCS ISSUES APRIL 11-12 The FCC's recently formed PCS Task Force will conduct one and one-half days of panel discussions on Personal Communication Service issues currently before the Commission. The new Personal Communication Service (PCS) was established by the FCC in 1993. PCS encompasses an array of new wireless services. Three broad categories of services are within the PCS family: broadband PCS, narrowband PCS, and unlicensed PCS devices. The purpose of these panel discussions is to inform the FCC and others about different PCS policy issues. The panels, moderated by members of the PCS task force, will feature representatives of providers, the financing community, economists and designated entities. FCC Commissioners may also be in attendance and may ask questions. All panels will take place at the FCC, 1919 M Street, N.W., in room 856. The sessions are open to the public.
