May 25, 1994 GARY M. EPSTEIN NAMED CHAIR OF WRC-95 ADVISORY COMMITTEE FCC Chairman Reed E. Hundt has appointed Gary M. Epstein to chair the FCC's Advisory Committee for the 1995 World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-95 Advisory Committee). The Advisory Committee will make recommendations to the FCC for U.S. proposals at WRC-95, which will be considering possible revisions to the international Radio Regulations that could affect global satellite and other radiocommunication services. Epstein is a partner in the law firm of Latham and Watkins, and heads the firm's telecommunications practice. Prior to joining Latham and Watkins, Epstein was Chief of the FCC's Common Carrier Bureau. He graduated with honors from both Lehigh University (BSEE) and Harvard Law School. In appointing Epstein to chair the WRC-95 Advisory Committee, Chairman Hundt stated, "Gary brings to the Chair of our WRC-95 Advisory Committee a unique combination of skills. With his educational background, in both engineering and law, and his extensive work experience in telecommunications, both in government and the private sector, Gary is an excellent choice.
