NEWS October 27, 1994 COMMISSIONER QUELLO TO RECEIVE LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FCC Commissioner James H. Quello will receive the Community Broadcaster Association's Lifetime Achievement Award at the CBA convention on Monday, November 7. The award will be presented by CBA president Jud Colley at a luncheon ceremony. The CBA praised Commissioner Quello for promoting regulation favoring the community benefits offered by community television stations, calling him "a steadfast and fair-minded friend of the industry." Commissioner Quello was appointed to the FCC in 1974 by President Nixon. He is currently in his fourth term at the Commission and in 1993 served as its Chairman. - FCC -
