April 19, 1995 JOHN NAKAHATA NAMED SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO CHAIRMAN HUNDT John Nakahata will take Merill Spiegel's position as special assistant to Chairman Reed Hundt. Prior to coming to the FCC, Mr. Nakahata was the staff director for the Senator Joseph Lieberman (D-Conn.) on the Subcommittee on Government Information & Regulations, Senate Governmental Affairs Committee. Mr. Nakahata has worked closely with the issues of video game violence, global warming, airline competition, ozone depletion, the adequacy of sunscreen and sunglass SPF ratings and whether radar guns pose a health risk to police officers. Prior to his position on the Subcommittee, Mr. Nakahata was an associate at the law firm of Jenner & Block in Washington D.C. Prior to that, he worked as a law clerk for Judge John Pratt, U.S. District Court for D.C. John Nakahat holds a B.A. form Weleyan University and a J.D. from Harvard University. - FCC -
