NEWSReport No. GN 95-4 GENERAL ACTION June 6, 1995 FCC UPGRADES SERVICES ON THE INTERNET In response to comments by its Internet users, the FCC recently took steps to improve services on the Internet. The new FCC homepage (http://www.fcc.gov) offers an easy to use entry point to the FCC's online resources. The page features selectable buttons to go directly to high interest items such as the Daily Digest, the Commission Agenda, Auctions, and current Rulemakings. There also is a button called "Getting Information." This provides a comprehensive tour of what information is available, and where it can be found on the site. It introduces the Commission, the Bureaus, and Offices and provides links to all available online documents, including the Daily Digest, Orders, Notices of Proposed Rulemaking, Speeches, and Public Notices. New material is added daily. There is also a link to the FCC phone directory, which is updated weekly. A general mailbox for e-mail to the FCC is available: fccinfo@fcc.gov. This address can be used for general questions, comments, or help from the FCC regarding the FCC Internet site. Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests can be sent to fccfoia@fcc.gov. The FCC Internet staff will continue to develop and expand its Internet services. Public comments and suggestions to help in this effort are invited.
