NEWS January 18, 1996 SUSAN LEWIS SALLET NAMED ACTING DIRECTOR OFFICE OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS Susan Lewis Sallet has been named Acting Director of the FCC's Office of Public Affairs. Sallet is moving from the FCC's Common Carrier Bureau, where she served as Special Assistant to the Bureau Chief. She previously served as Press Secretary for the Commission. Prior to joining the FCC, Sallet served as Director of Government Affairs for the JASON Foundation for Education, a science and technology program for students. She has also served as Press Secretary to Rhode Island Congressman Jack Reed, for whom she also handled telecommunications issues; as a Senior Account Executive at Porter/Novelli, a national public relations firm; as a Legislative Assistant for New York Congressman Stephen Solarz; and as an Assistant Press Secretary/Assistant Scheduler for Massachusetts Senator John F. Kerry. "The Office of Public Affairs has a critical role to play in informing the public about the activities of this public agency" said Chairman Reed Hundt. "Susan has done a terrific job for the Common Carrier Bureau and I'm delighted that I could prevail upon her to accept this challenge."
