NEWS January 25, 1996 S. JENELL TRIGG NAMED TELECOMMUNICATIONS POLICY ANALYST FOR THE OFFICE OF COMMUNICATIONS BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES S. Jenell Trigg has been appointed Telecommunications Policy Analyst for the Federal Communications Commission's Office of Communications Business Opportunities (OCBO). In this capacity, she will promote ownership and employment opportunities in the communications industry for small businesses, minorities, and women. Ms. Trigg will serve as OCBO's Mass Media specialist addressing various issues including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Advanced (Digital) Television Service. "Jenell brings enormous business experience and insight to the Commission," remarks Catherine J. K. Sandoval, Director of OCBO. "As a professional in the broadcast industry for fifteen years, her understanding of how the Commission's policies and rules affect the broadcast industry are invaluable. Her experience in the investment and financing of communications ventures will also be an asset to the small businesses we serve." A native of Columbia, MD, Ms. Trigg joined the FCC in February 1995 and served as a Legal Intern for both Commissioner Rachelle B. Chong and Commissioner Susan Ness. Prior to joining the Commission, Ms. Trigg enjoyed an extensive career in broadcast television. Most recently she was Director of Sales Marketing for Westinghouse's WJZ-TV, Baltimore and previously served as National Sales Manager for WJZ-TV, as well as Director of Marketing for WBFF-TV, Baltimore. Ms. Trigg began her professional broadcast career in Chicago as an Account Executive for WMAQ-TV, the NBC owned and operated station, where she twice held the station's record for the highest quarterly sale. Subsequently, she joined WFLD-TV, FOX Television Stations, Chicago as a Senior Account Executive. Ms. Trigg has been recognized in Who's Who of Finance of Industry and Who's Who of American Women. She is involved with various public service organizations including the National Coalition for 100 Black Women, National Political Congress of Black Women, and Delta Sigma Theta Inc., A Public Service Sorority, the Delta Research and Educational Foundation, and the Child Health Foundation. A 3rd year Juris Doctor of Laws candidate at the Columbus School of Law at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., Ms. Trigg is also a candidate for certification at the law school's Institute for Communications Law Studies. She received her Bachelor of Science in Speech at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. -FCC-
