NEWS March 5, 1996 MARSHA J. MACBRIDE NAMED SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE CHIEF, MASS MEDIA BUREAU Marsha J. MacBride has been named Special Assistant to the Chief of the Mass Media Bureau. Ms. MacBride joined the Commission in 1991 as an attorney in the Political Programming Branch of the Bureau's Enforcement Division. While in that Branch, Ms. MacBride participated in a wide range of political broadcast issues, including the Commission's 1991 revision of its political programming policies. She also helped lead the Bureau's successful team effort to reduce its backlog of lowest unit charge cases. Prior to joining the Commission, Ms. MacBride was associated with the law firm of Bishop, Cook, Purcell and Reynolds, where she specialized in the areas of cable and broadcast transactions and regulation. Ms. MacBride graduated magna cum laude from Douglass College, Rutgers University in 1981, and received her Juris Doctor from George Washington University in 1985. - FCC -
