      JANICE WISE NAMED CONFIDENTIAL ASSISTANT TO COMMISSIONER NESS
                                    
     Commissioner Susan Ness has named Janice B. Wise as her Confidential Assistant.
 
     She joins the Commission after serving for eight years as the Manager of Community
Relations and Special Projects at the law firm of Arnold & Porter.  There she worked with
the managing partner of the firm.

     Prior to that she held a variety of high-level administrative positions.  Janice majored 
in English at the University of Maryland and is an active volunteer on behalf of the cultural
arts community of Washington.    

     Commissioner Ness said, "Janice brings a wide range of organizational and public
relations skills to the position.  I and my staff are absolutely delighted to have her join us."
