          FCC HONORS EMPLOYEES WITH GOLD AND SILVER MEDAL AWARDS
   
   
        The Federal Communications Commission today awarded its highest honors, the
   Distinguished Service (gold medal) and Meritorious Service (silver medal) Awards, to
   13 employees.
   
        After opening remarks by Chairman Reed Hundt, the Commission's Bureau
   Chiefs presented the awards at an agency-wide ceremony at 9:00am yesterday, in the
   Commission Meeting Room.
   
        Awards were presented to Commission employees who, through their sustained
   extraordinary or exceptional accomplishments, have advanced the mission and
   objectives of the FCC.  Recipients were chosen based on nominations from Bureaus and
   Offices and recommendations by a Review Panel.
        
        Those who received awards are:
