October 10, 1996 NEW FCC WEB SITE SEARCH ENGINE AVAILABLE; FINDING INFORMATION NOW MUCH EASIER The FCC has recently installed a new search engine for use on the FCC World Wide Web site (http://www.fcc.gov). This will help web users find FCC documents quickly and easily by using simple word searches. The search tool also supports Boolean operators. To use the search tool, click on "search" in the menu bar at the top of the FCC home page. Detailed instructions and hints for using the new search tool are located on the search page (http://www.fcc.gov/search). Other sources for finding information on the FCC web site are "Finding Information at the FCC Internet Site," (http://www.fcc.gov/getinfo.html) and "About the FCC" (http://www.fcc.gov/aboutfcc.html). The FCC plans to hold an Internet Open Forum to discuss this and other new Internet Services.
