This order denies a request for an extension of time filed by the Industrial Telecommunications Association, Inc. (ITA) on January 4, 1999, seeking additional time to file comments in response to a Notice of Inquiry, released in this proceeding on December 4, 1998 2. Comments in response to the Notice of Inquiry were due on January 7, 1999. The request seeks a 30 day extension of time to permit ITA to poll its membership before filing comments. The Notice of Inquiry raises issues concerning how ITA's membership will be assessed fees in Fiscal Year (FY) 1999. ITA argues that because of the holiday season, it was not able to complete the polling of its membership before the time for filing comments expired. 3. The Commission is required to collect regulatory fees annually. Thus, the regulatory fee rulemaking is time sensitive, and the Commission will not routinely grant extensions of time to file pleadings. We are therefore denying ITA's request for an extension of time, but note that this action is without prejudice to ITA making ex parte submissions in the Notice of Inquiry proceeding or to filing comments in response to a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to be issued in this docket. 4. ACCORDINGLY, IT IS ORDERED, That pursuant to the authority delegated under 47 C.F.R. 0.231(a), Request for Extension of Time to File Comments, filed by the Industrial Telecommunications Association, Inc., IS DENIED.
