May 8, 1998 WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU PERSONNEL CHANGES Daniel E. Phythyon, Chief of the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (Wireless Bureau), has announced the following personnel changes: Steven Weingarten Named Chief of the Commercial Wireless Division Steven Weingarten has been named Chief of the Commercial Wireless Division. The Division is responsible for regulatory and licensing issues relating to cellular, PCS, SMR, paging, and other commercial wireless services. Prior to his current position Weingarten served as Legal Advisor to the Chief of the Wireless Bureau since June of 1997. Amy Zoslov Named Acting Chief of the Auctions and Industry Analysis Division Amy Zoslov has been named Acting Chief of the Auctions and Industry Analysis Division. The Division is responsible for conducting all FCC spectrum auctions, as well as producing the annual CMRS Competition Report to Congress. Prior to her current position, Zoslov served as Deputy Chief of the Auctions and Industry Analysis Division since 1995. David Furth Named Co-Chair of the Universal Licensing System David Furth has been named Co-Chair (with Karen Wrege) of the Universal Licensing (ULS) Task Force. The Task Force is responsible for implementation of ULS, the automated licensing system that will be used to handle all future licensing by the Wireless Bureau. When fully operational, ULS will support electronic filing of all licensing-related applications and will enhance the quality of licensing information available to the public.
