NEWS December 5, 1994 HOW TO COVER THE FCC AUCTION OR OTHER FCC ISSUES FROM YOUR FAX MACHINE The FCC will make information available concerning its December broadband auction through its fax-on-demand service. This is a "call in" service in which an individual may dial 202/418-2830, follow the steps and request a document and it will be sent directly to their fax machine. Please use the following instructions to guide you: FAX ON DEMAND The FCC's fax on demand service allows reporters and others to call in from a fax machine and receive up-to-date information. To receive this information, call 202/418-2830 and press 1 for a listing of fax on demand indexes. This will take you to a menu from which you may: press 1 for an index of news releases press 2 for an index of speeches press 3 for an index of fact sheets press 4 for a listing of FCC current events press 5 for an index of Public Notices press 6 for a listing of all indexes. After you select one of those options, enter your fax number, and the pound sign (#) and the index will be sent to you. Once you receive the index, select the document you would like to receive, call the FCC fax on demand, press 2 to request a document by document number, enter the document number (found on the list that was just faxed to you) and press the pound sign (#), enter your fax number, then the pound sign (#) and the document will be faxed to you.
