INTRODUCTION 1. In this Order, we grant a request filed by United States Cellular Corporation (USCC) to withdraw its Application for Review of a Declaratory Ruling by the Chief of the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (Bureau) that clarified certain aspects of the Commission's rules governing the wireless Enhanced 911 (E911) service. II. discussion 3. On December 18, 1998, the Bureau released a Declaratory Ruling (California Declaratory Order) in response to a request from the State of California 911 Program Manager. The Bureau clarified certain aspects of the E911 rules that establish the wireless E911 service as set forth by the Commission in Orders adopted in the E911 rulemaking proceeding. 4. On January 19, 1999, USCC filed an Application for Review of the California Declaratory Order. On January 19, 2000, USCC filed the letter requesting to withdraw the Application for Review, stating that the issues presented to the Commission are largely moot. The Bureau has received the request to withdraw and finds that a grant thereof is warranted. 5. Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED THAT, pursuant to Sections 4(i) and 5(c) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U.S.C.  154(i), 155(c), and Section 1.115 of the Commission's Rules, 47 C.F.R.  1.115, and the authority delegated pursuant to Sections 0.131 and 0.331 of the Commission's Rules, 47 C.F.R.  0.131, 0.331, the Request to Withdraw filed by United States Cellular Corporation on January 19, 2000, IS GRANTED. 6.
