$// PN, Transfer and Assignmnet Procedures, DA 95-2159//$ RECORD ONLY PUBLIC NOTICE FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION 1919 M STREET N.W. WASHINGTON, D.C. 20554 DA 95-2159 News media information 202/418-0500. October 13, 1995 COMMERCIAL WIRELESS DIVISION, WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU REISSUES TRANSFER AND ASSIGNMENT PROCEDURES. The Commercial Wireless Division (CWD) typically receives a large number of transfer and assignment applications filed towards the end of each calendar year from applicants who wish to have such applications processed by year's end. Therefore, we are reissuing our Public Notice issued January 31, 1995 announcing procedures for transfer and assignment applications. Pro forma and non pro forma transfer and assignment applications will be handled on two different processing tracks. In the normal course, a pro forma transfer or assignment will be processed within 30 days of the filing date; a non pro forma transfer or assignment application will be processed within 75 days of the filing date if no petitions regarding the application are filed. Given the time it normally takes to process such applications, we recommend that any transfers or assignments, other than pro forma, be filed with the Commission no later than November 1, 1995. We recommend pro forma transfers or assignments be filed by November 30, 1995. A Public Notice listing all transfer and assignment applications accepted for filing each week will be issued by the Legal Branch, CWD every Friday. We will make every effort to process assignment and transfer applications by the end of the year. In those instances in which expedited treatment is requested, we ask that a sufficient showing be made other than a showing that the transaction must be closed by the end of the year. Questions concerning the status of pending applications should be directed to Betty Woolford, the CWD Customer Service Specialist. In addition, entities contemplating the filing of a large number of transfer or assignment applications are encouraged to contact Betty Woolford in advance of filing and provide the following information: type of filing (pro forma/ non pro forma), the number of call signs/facilities affected, number of applications, anticipated filing date, and anticipated closing date. This will help facilitate the processing of such applications by the Transfer and Assignment Group. For further information, contact Betty Woolford at 202-418-0631. -- FCC --
