DA 97-209 January 29, 1997 WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU POSTPONES FEBRUARY 18, 1997 AUCTION DATE FOR 981 INTERACTIVE VIDEO AND DATA SERVICE (IVDS) LICENSES Report No. AUC-96-13-E (Auction No. 13) Pursuant to authority delegated by  0.131 of the Commission's Rules, 47 C.F.R.  0.131, the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau today has decided to delay the commencement of the IVDS auction to give the Commission an opportunity to consider a Petition for Rulemaking and numerous informal requests of potential bidders and license holders seeking to obtain additional flexibility for the service. In light of this action, any manually filed applications will be returned, and any electronically filed applications will be purged from the database. A subsequent Public Notice will be released announcing a new short-form filing deadline and auction procedures. The IVDS Auction Seminar will be held as scheduled on Thursday, January 30, 1997, as an informal forum with FCC staff to discuss issues and options regarding potential service changes.
