WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU COMMERCIAL WIRELESS DIVISION ANNOUNCEMENT OF ACCEPTANCE OF PHASE 1 APPLICATIONS AND TENTATIVE SELECTEE FOR UNSERVED AREAS Report No. CL-97-37 February 24, 1997 On January 21, 1997, the Federal Communications Commission completed its auction of 13 Phase 1 licenses to provide cellular service in unserved areas. The following applicants have submitted winning bids for the following markets and their applications have been ACCEPTED for filing as tentative selectees. The acceptance for filing of these applications does not mean that the applications are ready for grant. Upon further review, additional information may be requested or the applications may later be returned or dismissed if the applications are found to be defective or not in conformance with the Commission's rules. Any 1.65 amendments must be filed no later than March 26, 1997. See Sections 22.949(d) and 1.4 of the Commission's Rules, 47 C.F.R.  22.949(d) and 1.4. Petitions to Deny against the listed tentative selectees must be filed by March 26, 1997. See Section 22.130(a)(4) of the Commission's Rules, 47 C.F.R.  22.130(a)(4).
