Washington, D.C. 20554 Released: January 8, 1997 WIRELESS BUREAU ANNOUNCES THE AVAILABILITY OF MORE OPTIONS ON INTERNET FOR REVIEWING AND PRINTING THE WEEKLY PUBLIC NOTICE Wireless Telecommunications Bureau applications are subject to the pre-grant notice and petition procedure of Section 309 of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, that were accepted for filing during each week are combined into a weekly publication, available via the Internet. In addition, the public notice listing includes applications that were returned for correction, amended substantially since accepted for filing, or that have been resubmitted after public notice of return to applicant. The public notice also contains other information concerning items that were filed or acted upon during the week. This public notice was previously available in only a single combined publication which included Part 74 (Broadcast Auxiliary), Part 80 (Marine Public Coast and Alaska Public Fixed), Part 87 (Aviation Ground Aeronautical Advisory, Enroute, Fixed and Airport Control Tower), Part 90 (Commercial Mobile Radio Services) and Part 101 (Fixed Microwave Services). In an effort to provide more user-friendly information, the public notice has been separated into four parts, allowing customers to access and print only the portion of the public notice that pertains to their specific interests. The weekly Public Notice is updated to the Wireless Bureau's Internet site @ http://www.fcc.gov/Bureaus/Wireless/Public_Notices. You may still access the entire combined weekly public notice in an "html" format, a sample file name being "wtbappl#.htm". Hyperlinks have been added within this combined public notice which allow the user to select a specific category of applications in lieu of paging through the entire document. The separate portions of the public notice are available in a "pdf" format by the following categories: Part 101 - mw#.pdf, Part 90 - cmrs#.pdf, Parts 80 and 87 - cg#.pdf, and Part 74 - ba#.pdf. The "#" in the sample file name is representative of the week of the month and will change. These public notices will remain on the internet for one month, at which time they will be overwritten with the following month's publication. Additionally, the weekly public notice may be accessed via the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau homepage under General Information @ http://www.fcc.gov/wtb/wirehome.html. More information is available at this site about the free Adobe Acrobat reader for PDF (Portable Document Format). As a result of comments from our customers, the capability to print a single page or to print a range of pages has been added, thus reducing the need to print the entire document unnecessarily.
