The forum is part of WTB's continuing effort to ease the transition to ULS for wireless services and to obtain comment on system performance and potential improvements. WTB is holding this forum because as of February 29, 2000, the microwave services will have been deployed in ULS for six months. Beginning March 1, 2000 use of the ULS forms will be mandatory for all microwave applicants and some applicants will be required to file electronically. WTB invites those who are responsible for filing applications, researching applications, and researching licenses in the Microwave radio services to provide the Bureau input regarding their experiences with ULS. The Bureau is particularly interested in questions, suggestions and comments that will help us better serve the public in the following areas: customer service, online data entry, application research, and license research. Key Bureau staff will be on hand to record and answer individual questions. The public forum will take place in the Commission Meeting Room from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. local eastern time on February 9, 2000, at 445 12th St., SW, Washington, DC. Participants are encouraged to submit questions on the above-referenced topics and on other issues that they would like to see addressed at the forum. Issues and questions should be submitted by February 2, 2000, to Randy Byrd at (202) 418-0584, or via e-mail at rbyrd@fcc.gov. Parties interested in attending the public forum should notify Randy Byrd as soon as possible and provide their name, organization or firm, telephone number, and email (if applicable).
