WASHINGTON, D.C. 20554 DA 96-1322 News media information 202/418-0500 Fax-On-Demand 202/418-2830 Internet: http://www.fcc.gov ftp.fcc.gov Released: August 16, 1996 FCC ANNOUNCES GRANT OF 900 MHz SPECIALIZED MOBILE RADIO MTA LICENSES On August 16, 1996, the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau, under delegated authority, conditionally granted the applications listed in Attachment A hereto for Major Trading Area (MTA) licenses in the Specialized Mobile Radio Service (SMR) in the 896-901 MHz and 935-940 MHz bands. The applicants identified in this Notice have qualified as small businesses who are eligible to pay the remaining balance of their winning bids in installments pursuant to Section 90.812 of the Commission's rules. Grant of each license is expressly conditioned on timely execution and return by the licensee of a note documenting the licensee's installment payment obligations and a security agreement commemorating the Commission's security interest in the license in the event of default. Failure to comply with this condition in a timely manner for any license will result in revocation of the license. Each licensee will shortly receive an original note and security agreement for each license granted, with instructions on completing, signing, and returning the documents to the United States Department of Treasury. Individual licenses will be issued to each licensee following receipt by the Department of Treasury of the note(s) and security agreement(s).
