                STATEMENT OF COMMISSIONER RACHELLE CHONG 
                    IN RE NOMINATION OF REGINA KEENEY


                I congratulate Regina on this exciting announcement.  It comes on a day when her tireless
and outstanding efforts as our Common Carrier Bureau Chief have resulted in an superb
Interconnection item.  Regina's deep experience in the telecommunications field, both at the
Commission and on the Hill, makes her a prime candidate for any policy position in the field. 
On a personal level, Regina has been a pleasure to work with both as the Chief of the FCC's
Common Carrier Bureau and the Chief of the FCC's Wireless Bureau.
